When AI meal analysis is most useful
It helps most when you are dealing with homemade dishes, salads, fruit, snacks without packaging, or products that are not available in the standard database.
How the flow works
1. Take a photo
Capture the meal or product you want to estimate.
2. Add context
You can clarify what is on the plate to make the result more useful.

What you get in the result
The result is not a replacement for packaging data, but it gives you a fast, practical estimate that can help you compare choices and decide whether to save the meal to your diary.
New: AI analysis now includes health and fitness impact ratings – both overall and within the specific product category.
Warning: Values are estimated by artificial intelligence (AI) and may be inaccurate or contain errors. Always use common sense and treat them as a guide.

What to keep in mind
AI analysis gives you an estimate, not a precise measurement. It works best as quick support for everyday decisions, especially when you do not have full packaging data available.
What happens to the photos
Photos used in the standard AI meal analysis flow are sent to the AI provider to generate a response and are not stored on our server. Only photos that you deliberately upload separately in a missing-product submission can reach our server.
In that separate submission flow, the front photo may be retained after moderation is confirmed, while ingredient and nutrition-table photos are kept only temporarily until moderation is finished.
FAQ
Does AI work for homemade meals?
Yes. That is one of its most convenient uses, since homemade dishes usually cannot be checked by scanning a barcode.
Is the result always accurate?
No. It is an estimate that helps you make a quick decision, but it does not replace verified data from packaging or recipes.
Can I save the result to my diary later?
Yes. It is a convenient way to combine photo-based analysis with ongoing diet tracking.
